ARKANSAS BO

"A Real Kool Ass Nigga Scratching And Surviving" BO
Marlon Jennings a.k.a. "ARKANSAS BO", was born and raised on the streets of Stuttgart, Arkansas. In order to understand the man behind the music and the inspiration behind his thought provoking lyrics, one must first revisit his origins. Raised in poverty, he turned to the streets seeking refuge. In a community plagued with frequent violence and poverty he began associating with the wrong crowd. It was just a matter of time before he was sucked into the life of violence. It is apparent that BO's inspiration comes from things he has both witnessed and done. Keeping in mind many of his hard times and struggles.
"Arkansas BO" credits various artists such as 2pac, Biggie, Scarface, UGK, Nas, Jay Z, Devin the Dude, The Temptations, BB King & Jimmy Hendrix as being some of his musical influences. When listening to the lyrical context of his songs, one would sense a part of those various artists in him. He strongly believes their various styles are all a part of the embodiment of whom we now know as "ARKANSAS BO". Bo gives tribute to his city and state for making him whom he is. When asked about the "ARKANSAS" in his name. He replied "I felt I needed to take a piece of my state with me". Bo has been able to breathe a new meaning into the name "ARKANSAS" by formulated it to fit his struggle. Hence giving birth to the acronym: A Real Kool Ass Nigga Scratching And Surviving BO

For those unfamiliar with the day to day struggles of inner city kids, 'Porch Thinking' offers a musical journey into an often-glamorized underworld. Though for some, it's an all-too-familiar dose of everyday reality. It serves as a source of education for those who have little or no knowledge about the dark sides and struggles of inner city life. Often wondering why friends and associates accustomed to the life style act strangely, BO gives an insider view on the way in which some people are forced to live. His music also serves as a source of inspiration for those who currently live the life. It gives them hope of a better future, and teaches the lesson "cause one is born into poverty doesn't mean one can't change that around through hard work".

Heavy on introspects and streetwise enlightenment, 'Porch Thinking' gives one not only a stroll through the streets of Stuttgart, but also a journey through the life and mind of "ARKANSAS BO". Introducing you to the romantic and street thug, Porch thinking' shows the many faces of this artist.
After hooking up with Lites Out Entertainment, Bo has been able to further develop his artistic talent, which has ultimately resulted in his first LP. He is an artist eager to take the world by storm. When asked, what do you intend to derive from the music industry? He responded, "I want to be heard, I want to make an impact in the rap industry"... "All I think about is music, I live music, I breathe music, and I spend all my free time in the studio". Arkansas BO is a legend in the making, passively waiting to take the world by storm.

WWW.WESTWORD.COM writer Quibian Salazar-Moreno wrote:

Listening to Porch Thinkin', you get the sense that Arkansas Bo was one of those cats that got along with everybody in high school. He's witty, funny, intelligent and more fun to hang out with than pretty much everyone else. And that persona translates well to his debut disc. Although he may draw comparisons to Ludacris because of his deep voice, Southern drawl and rhyme style, Bo is much more versatile. On songs like "My Lord" and "Poe," Bo humbly speaks of his life and struggles growing up in Arkansas. Meanwhile, on tracks like "Takeover" and "Arkansas' Finest" he spits lyrical fire, shunning any notion that he can't hold his own behind the mike. But even more impressive than Bo's flow is the album's production. The bass line and groove concocted by Akil on "Ladies Man" is too smooth, and Mic's contribution for "Feelin' Nat" will have heads bobbin' for the entire four minutes.

KAMAKAZII ENTERTAINMENT & ROTTEN APPLE WEAR

*ROTTEN APPLE* (R.A). Rotten Apple wear is a symbol of irony and the desire to stand out translated into clothing. Like in our our name; we are soon to offer fashionable clothing that represent clean complexity. We have a lot of ideas in the making as we speak. Like everyone knows already "KAMAKAZII ENTERTAINMENT" stands out in the bunch and (R.A.) clothing in the nature is designed for a "FASHION CROWD". For this reason, when we drop we will drop and we will not do mass manufacturing (selective shirts are limited in styles and will rarely ever be made again) An R.A. man or woman will always be ON TOP of THE FASHION GAME"; leaving the act of looking BACK to the curious heads who turn in response to the wearer. The makers of the brand began as 3 members who got tired of the norms at an early age and striving to be different; we've decided to make our own clothing. "Rotten Apple" is main focus is mainly to express no limitation in style through our designs and clothing. Rotten Apple is More than a clothing brand; its a way of life; it's the representation of our unique inner sef to the norms in society. R.A. "ROTTEN APPLE" is the desire of that one person to say "I WANT TO BE DIFFERENT THAN THE NORM" that represents the basic idea of ROTTEN APPLE.

It’s not a laptop project. It’s an education project.
In 2002, MIT Professor Nicholas Negroponte experienced first-hand how connected laptops transformed the lives of children and their families in a remote Cambodian village. A seed was planted: If every child in the world had access to a computer, what potential could be unlocked? What problems could be solved? These questions eventually led to the foundation of One Laptop per Child, and the creation of the XO laptop.

OLPC’s mission is to provide a means for learning, self-expression, and exploration to the nearly two billion children of the developing world with little or no access to education. While children are by nature eager for knowledge, many countries have insufficient resources to devote to education—sometimes less than $20 per year per child (compared to an average of $7,500 in the United States). By giving children their very own connected XO laptop, we are giving them a window to the outside world, access to vast amounts of information, a way to connect with each other, and a springboard into their future. And we’re also helping these countries develop an essential resource—educated, empowered children.
